James F. (Jim) Pentony, 86, formerly of Tiffin, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Hospice of Cincinnati, Blue Ash, OH. He is survived by his wife, Fran, of 58 years; his four children, James, Jr. (Karen) of Bermuda Dunes, CA, Kevin (Diana) of Tiffin, Sean (Mary) of La Quinta, CA and Colleen (Rod) Caswell of Loveland, OH, six grandchildren; Sara (Brandon) Bytnar of Naples, FL, Melissa Baker of Columbus, OH, Sarah Pentony of Palm Desert, CA, Jake Baker of Bowling Green, OH, Riley Caswell and Sydney Caswell of Aurora, IN. Jim was born on August 14, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA to the late James Patrick and Catherine Pentony. Also preceeded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Pentony. He attended LaSalle College High School and Drexell University in Philadelphia, PA. He served with the Army Corp of Engineers during the Korean War. He retired from Webster Industries in 1996 after working for 34 years. Jim was devoted to his family. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #402 in Tiffin. His interests included golf, bowling, softball, football and auto racing. He was a world traveler and an avid reader. Jim and Fran moved from their home of 52 years in Tiffin on September 19 to be near their daughter in Loveland. They were looking forward to their new adventure. On September 25, Jim suffered a massive stroke from which he was unable to recover. Jim will be cremated according to his wishes. Burial will be at a later date.
