Steven G. Moore

September 8, 1956 — September 28, 2015

Steven G. "Top Drawer" Moore, age 59, of Mason, Ohio passed away peacefully Monday, September 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born Saturday, September 8, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio to George and Joyce (nee Cunningham) Moore. A graduate of Elder High School, he showed true Panther passion in everything he did. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Joyce Moore. Steve is survived by: his loving wife, Cathy (nee O'Hara) Moore; daughters, Erica (husband, Michael) Carlos and Aimee (husband, Erik) Heller; grandchildren, Breonna Rodgers, Makenna Moore and Ellie Heller; siblings, Pam Oswald, Gary (wife, Linda) Moore, Tim (wife, Joanne) Moore, Donna (husband, Danny) Weidner and David (wife, Kristine) Moore; and many other loving family members and friends. In the late 70s he aspired to his dream of becoming a thoroughbred horse trainer and trained horses locally until suffering an injury. He then changed directions and went to college to get a degree in computer science. While attending college he went to work for the Kroger warehouse. After graduation he moved into the Kroger offices supporting their pharmacy and then continued on to supporting SuperX pharmacy. In 1986 he suffered a seizure and had his first brain surgery in which three more surgeries were soon to follow. While working for the Kroger Company he was asked to volunteer during the United Way drive. It was at that time that he discovered his deep passion was working with special needs children at the Special Olympics and St Joseph's Infant Home. After his first brain surgery he felt an even deeper connection and bond to the kids he worked with because he could relate to what they were going through. Unfortunately due to deteriorating health he had to stop his work as a computer programmer and started a new career with his wife in real estate until his health deteriorated and he had to retire. Even though he was retired he stayed busy and became an Epilepsy Advocate and co-hosted the cable show Epilepsy Today. Top Drawer, Elder pride, purple, and his great sense humor is how many people will remember Steven.
