Gene S. Howard, age 80, of Lebanon, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday, August 26, 2015. Gene was born Saturday, August 3, 1935 in Norwood, Ohio to Robert and Gypsie (nee Smith) Howard. He served our country in the US Army. Gene Retired from Ford Motor Company after a 34 year career as a plant layout engineer. He was also an avid sports fan, woodworking enthusiast, and enjoyed watching Western movies. His family is blessed to have many of his creative woodworking treasures as keepsakes. Gene was member of the Melrose Masonic Lodge in Norwood. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Robert and Gypsie Howard; sister, Delores (husband, George) Morris; brothers, Lloyd (wife, Audrey) Howard and Floyd Howard. Gene is survived by: his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon (nee Terwilliger) Howard; daughter, Susan Howard Mueller; son, Dan (wife, Gail) Howard; grandchildren, Christopher, Thomas, and Evan Mueller; sister-in-law, Ginnie Howard; brother-in-law, Fred (wife, Pat) Terwilliger; many close nieces and nephews, family members and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Lebanon Cemetery.
