Karen Ann Castner (nee Meyers) 56, beloved wife of Daniel Castner for over 30 years, loving mother of Kyle and Brooke Castner, devoted daughter of Don and Shirley Meyers and daughter-in-law of Arlene and the late William Castner, dear sister of Linda (late Ron) Augutis, Laura (Jon) Webb and Kenny (Rachel) Meyers and sister-in-law of Renee Berger, Julie Conley, Gary, Steve, Keith and Brian Castner, aunt and friend to many. Passed away peacefully Thursday, August 6, 2015. Karen loved music especially live music. She enjoyed vacationing with her family and friends, hiking and swimming. In the Words of Karen's Younger Sister, Laura (Meyers) Webb: My sister Karen passed away this week. A breast cancer survivor for many years, in the past few recent years she battled a second type of cancer, the rare and aggressive leiomyosarcoma. She is survived by her husband Danny, children Kyle and Brooke, two sisters, one brother, her parents, and many cousins, nieces and nephews and extended family members. And friends! Oh my Karen was definitely the popular sister and has many, many friends, several who have loved her for a lifetime. Karen was 12 years older than I, and as a young teen I got to see her as a mother to Brooke and Kyle, and decided she is the kind of mother I wanted to be someday. Always there to help, she was still advising, counseling, and comforting friends and family just before she passed, when she needed to muster up energy just to speak. A loyal and highly valued employee, she was still taking calls from work at that time too. I cannot think of a person in this world who is going to be missed by so many. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.
