N. James Geiger

March 5, 1943 — April 11, 2015

N. James Geiger passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the age of 72. Jim was the beloved husband of Lois Mahsling Geiger for 20 years, son of the late Marjorie Geiger and the late Norbert Geiger (Evelyn), devoted Dad of J.R. Geiger and Mike (Heike) Geiger, caring Stepdad of Steve (Jaime) Johnson, Chris (Rachael) Johnson and Amanda (Kevin) Carlton, dear brother of Ed (Gabriele) Geiger, Peggy (Mike) McKinney, Julie (John) Postallian, and Sharon Geiger and loving Grandpa of Skylar, Mia, Tessa, Henry, Lucy, Alex, Nick and Chris and cherished son-in-law of Teresa Mahsling and the late Leo Mahsling. He will be greatly missed by a host of family and friends. Jim attended Springmeyer and Dent Elementary Schools on the west side of Cincinnati. He enjoyed telling the story that Dent School was later turned into the WEBN Haunted House. He was a 1961 graduate of Western Hills High School. Jim had many fond memories of his high school adventures and "the crowd he ran with". Jim enlisted in the US Army in 1963 and proudly served his country as a Nuclear Weapons Electronic Specialist. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and also earned the Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle). He was stationed in Turkey during the Vietnam era and his Reserve Obligation was served at Kings Mills, Ohio. He was honorably discharged in 1969. Jim was a teen couples roller skating competitor, a boater, a skier, a "seasoned" tennis player, and a jack-of-all-trades. He was an avid Harley rider. Jim participated in numerous benefit rides and was a Patriot Guard participant. He proudly flew the American Flag and was a member of the NRA. Jim was in sales for most of his working years. When he retired from Cummins Allison Corporation in 2012, he was an Executive Senior Sales Representative selling Counterfeit Detection, Coin Discrimination and Document Destruction machines. Jim and Lois were devoted to each other for over 20 years. They both called their love and marriage "a second chance of a lifetime". Jim was a great guy and a friend to all. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jeffrey Bloomer, the staff at OHC in Kenwood and the staff at the Blood Cancer Unit and the Infusion Center at Jewish Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Jim Essell.
