Mary Austine Burton, 86, wife of 31 years to the late Edwin Luke Burton, dear friend to the late Albert Holloway, loving Mother to Gina (Jeff) Arens, Michael (Jaime), James, Randy (Kerry) and Steve (Nina) Burton and Bunny Buchanan, caring sister of Marilyn Brunk and the late Opal, Eula, Mae, Ruth, Rose, Wayne, Earl, Lee, Joe, Jack, Odell and Russell, grandmother to Amy (Martin) Sinclair, Jody (John) Dickey, Jesse and Alex Burton, Caitlin (Malcolm) Dax, Andrea (Ryan) Handbury, Kevin Arens, Spencer Burton, Nick (Emmy)and Kyle Baily and Jeff Buchanan, also great-grandma of Emma Sinclair, David Arens, Edgerrin Baily, Madison and Zoey Buchanan. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2014. Born on Christmas day, Mary was known for her dedication to family, hard work and strong faith. She was a native of Somerset, KY, the daughter of Avery J. and Bertie (Rupard) Miller. One of fourteen children, she completed courses at Brown Business School and Southern Ohio College working much of her life as an office administrator and manager. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was active in their seniors group. She had a lifelong love of music and sang in choirs from High School through adulthood. She loved crosswords and Scrabble and loved playing these with family and friends. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart and gave her great joy in her retirement years. She was also a Sunday School teacher and Girl Scout Leader for many years. Visitation at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Friday, September 26 from 6-8 PM.
