Richard C. "Rich" Stewart, II, 67, beloved son of the late Elder James H. Stewart and Maggie M. (Poore) Stewart, loving brother of Betty (Calvin) Carter, Brenda Stewart and James (Susan Harmeling) Stewart, dear uncle of James C. Carter, Christina (Andre) Daugherty, Christopher Carter, Melissa Carter, Jennifer (James) Hill, Jason Wiley and Briana Stewart, great-uncle of Michaela Carter, Brynna Daugherty and Benjamin Daugherty, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 12, 2014. Rich is also survived by a host of aunts, cousins and friends. Rich was an avid reader who enjoyed playing tennis and loved to discuss politics and science. He loved to travel and visit his family, who will remember him as one of the smartest men they knew. Prior to his retirement, Rich served as Chief Counsel (Intellectual Property) at International Paper. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Albert Dyson officiating at Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church in Asheville, North Carolina.
