Holden Joseph Gilkinson, age 6, earned his angel wings on May 22, 2014 following a long and valiant battle with cancer. Holden was the beloved son of Jeff and Miriam Gilkinson and adored little brother of Hayden. He is survived by grandparents Robert and MaryEllen Gilkinson, Robert Lawler, and Gretchen Lawler; aunts and uncles Bo Lawler, Kate Lawler, Peggy Lawler (Floyd Repman), Katie (Steve) Moran, and Nova (Jeff) Silver. Holden was a 2012 graduate of Liberty Heights Preschool and was thrilled to be a Starfish in the First Grade at Mason Early Childhood Center, even though he had to have hemodialysis three times a week. He loved baseball, Legos, the color blue, Buzz Lightyear, and especially his big brother. He radiated joy and was a great friend to all. Part Timex and part Energizer Bunny, he took everything cancer threw at him with a grace well beyond his years. Holden had an infectious laugh and he was loving, wise, resilient, tenacious, and vivacious.
