Mary Raterman (nee Shearer), age 64. Beloved wife of Joseph W. Raterman for nearly 35 years. Dearest mother to Sara (Jake) Spinnler, Daniel (Kathryn) Raterman, and Thomas (Amy) Raterman. Loving grandmother to Charlotte, Maximus, Archer, and Claire. Devoted sister to John Shearer, Daniel Shearer, Patricia McEwen; dear sister-in-law to Royce McEwen, Judy and Ray Davoran, Joan Buzek, Larry and Cindy Raterman, Bob and Carmen Raterman, John and Ceann Raterman, and Mary and John Ploehs. Died peacefully at home on Thursday, April 10, 2014. Born in Chicago, IL on June 12, 1949 to the late Howard and Anna Mae Shearer. Graduate of the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN. Mary was a Nurse, May Festival chorister, Master Gardener, and recognized "Hosta Queen", and volunteered countless hours at the Civic Garden Center, and Mercy Health - St. John. Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at St. Catharine of Siena Catholic Church in Westwood (2848 Fischer Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211) followed by a reception.
