WORLD WAR II VETERAN US ARMY Willie L. 'Bill' Young, Sr., 92, beloved husband of 63 years to the late Opal (nee Pike), devoted father of Bill, Jr. (Pamela), Linda (Carl) Baker and Valda (Earl) Fridley, son of the late Freddie and Lillie Mae (nee Hollar) Young, loving Pawpaw of Carla (Wayne) Dunn, Stacia Young, Darren (Jackie) and Kevin (Kayla) Fridley and Stephanie Marker, great-grandpa of Liam and Nathan Fridley and Will Patterson, dear brother of the lateGladys Moore, Elsie Wise, Maynis and Melvin Young. Passed away peacefully with his family at his side, Friday, August 23, 2013. Bill and Opal were long time residents of West Chester (Maud) for 57 years. Bill worked for Continental Can Company for over 30 years. He served the US Army during World War II in the European Theater and received the Bronze Star. He marched throughout Europe and was in Germany when the war ended. In May, 2010 Bill took is first airplane ride on an Honor Flight to Washington, DC with his son to visit the World War II Memorial. Bill and Opal were proud members of Mason Church of God for many years. Pastor Josh Hauser will officiate the Service. Visitation at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Tuesday, August 27 from 11 AM until time of Service at 1:00 PM. Military Honors immediately following the service.
