Matthew B. Buczek, Phd, 56, beloved husband of Julie A. Dodd-Buczek (nee Gibson), devoted father of Rachel L. Salim and Nathan R. Buczek, step-father of Matthew T., Nicholas T. and Maria E. Dodd, dear brother of Christine M. Buczek, Mark A. and Anton F. 'Chip' Buczek, loving grandfather of Asha and Abe Salim. Passed away after valiantly battling cancer for 7 years on June 12, 2013. Matthew B. Buczek, Ph.D, P.E. began his college education at Michigan Tech University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1981. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi while at Michigan Tech. In 1982 Matt received his Masters Degree in Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Tech University and later completed his education at The University of Dayton earning his Doctorate in Materials Engineering. Matt was proud to be employed and part of GE Aviation for over 29 years and acquired the title of Operations Manager, Materials and Process Engineering. He was responsible for many patents throughout those years. Memorial Gathering at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Saturday, June 29 from 3 PM until time of Memorial Service at 6:00 PM.
