Joseph (Joe or Butch) John DePetro passed away quietly Sunday, April 14th. Joe was born on May 2, 1951 in Bradford, PA to Frank and Anna DePetro and was the baby in a family of 3 sisters. He is preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth (Betsa) Yerdon of Bradford, PA. Joe was a graduate of Bradford Central Christian High School and Pittsburgh University where he earned his degree in history. Rather than teach history, Joe spent the last 40 years working with city and state water municipalities. He was currently employed at Chesley Associates of Cincinnati. Joe, an avid football fan since high school, will always be remembered as 'COACH DEPETRO" to a multitude of youngsters from the St. Susanna's football program and as an avid fan at numerous Moeller High school games in which his 3 sons participated. Joe will also be missed as the "smiling" usher at St. Susanna's Catholic Church services. Joe is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shonda Eller DePetro, his 3 outstanding sons, Joseph (Joe) John DePetro, Jr., of Royal Oak, MI, Matthew James DePetro of Sunnyvale, CA and Andrew Charles with his wife Celestina and 2 beloved grandchildren, Tamara Francesca and Maximus DePetro,all residing in Nicosia, Cyprus. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Sr. Josephine DePetro of Erie, PA and Mary Lou Graham who resides in Stockton, CA and a multitude of nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Mueller Funeral Home in Mason, OH. A calling with be held on Thursday, April 18th from 2 to 7 PM with a catholic prayer service immediately following visitation at the Mueller Funeral Home. A memorial service followed by burial will be held in Bradford, PA on Saturday, April 20th. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Susanna Network of Care, the St. Susanna Peanut Butter Ministry, and/or Bradford Central Christian High School/St. Bernard's High School.
