James Konstantine 'Jimmy' Kuroff, Sr., 86, beloved husband of Barbara Kuroff (nee Norton), devoted father of J. Konstantine (Dean) Kuroff, Jr. (Cindy), Mary A. Kuroff and Kara K. Fulcher (David), dear son of the late Konstantinos and Maria Samaras, brother of the late Stavros Samaras, Melpomeni Mihou, Theadota Pandazi, Evanthia Vasiliou, loving Poppy of Candice M. Fulcher, Jordan E. Berger, James K. 'Jimmy' Kuroff, Alexandra J. (Allie) Kuroff and Katherine A. (Katie) Kuroff. Passed away October 17, 2011 with his family at his side.

In March, 1952, Jimmy landed in New York Harbor on the Queen Mary. Only 27, he had already survived a civil war in Greece, WW II under the German occupation in Vienna, and a Russian post-war displaced persons camp. His first job in America was at the Silver Spring Restaurant in Symmes Township making $25/week. In 1960 he bought the restaurant and operated it until 1980 as Kuroff's Restaurant and as J. Gatsby's from 1984 until he sold it in 1988 (now Silver Spring House). In retirement his joy was growing tomatoes which won him blue ribbons at the Warren County Fair and earned him the title of "Tomato Man."

Visitation at Mueller Parker Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Monday, October 24 from 5-8 PM and on Tuesday at Hope Church, 4934 Western Row Road, Mason from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM.
