US ARMY VETERAN Alex 'Ax' Betley, 93, beloved husband of the late Janet R. (nee Duchay), devoted father of Sherry (James) Betlej, loving grandfather of Stacy (John) Amodeo and Clint Betlej and great-grandfather of Alex Amodeo, dear brother of Walter and the late August, Marge Zaker and Eleanore Gramza. Passed away peacefully May 2, 2103. Ax was a lover of all things sports related, as a young man he was on the Wisconsin Rapids Minor League Baseball Team affiliated with the Chicago White Sox, but he did cheer on both the Cubs and the Sox. He was an avid golfer into his mid 80's and was very proud that his grandson Clint enjoyed the game too. He was honored to have his first Great Grandchild named after him. Loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, long time Chicago resident, he will be missed and remembered by many. Service Private.
