Janice S. 'Jan' Wickens (nee Kimbrough), 56, beloved wife of Robert G. Wickens, devoted mother of John Jason (Anna) McCollum and Brad Everett McCollum and Amanda Wickens, step-mother of Kathleen Grace Cowart and Laura Marie Wickens, dear sister of Deborah (Tom) Martin, Beth (Sam) Freeman, Jack Kimbrough and the late Cynthia Ussery, loving grandmother of Lily McCollum, Andrew Cowart, Emma Wickens, Flannery McCollum and Geryn McCollum. Passed away December 4, 2010. Janice was a 1973 graduate of Lorain Admiral King High School. She graduated from Lorain Hospitality Institute in 1982. She married Robert Wickens, on Dec. 17, 1983 in Bay Presbyterian Church. They were both Lorainites, but made our first home in nearby North Ridgeville, Ohio. In 1985 they moved to the Cincinnati area. While living in Lorain County, Janice's career included: Sales Manager, The Oberlin Inn; Sales Manager, Cleveland Marriott Hotel; PBX Trainer, Digital & Analog Design; and Account Rep for Alltel Corporation. In the Cincinnati area she was employed at Salt Run Veterinary Clinic, and later became a full-time homemaker. She loved collies, and enjoyed training them. She also enjoyed horseback riding, and travelling back to Northern Ohio to see family and friends. Visitation at Mueller Parker Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Tuesday, December 7th from 7-9 PM. Service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30 AM with Rev. Tim Williams officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Memory of Janice.
