Maggie first arrived in the USA in 1957 from West Germany hardly speaking any English. In 1969 she joined Hubbell Metals in Louisville, KY as receptionist and was soon promoted into their Customer Service department. With in months after Hubbell's acquisition by National Steel, Maggie became shop foreman and was later promoted to Plant Manager.

In the mid-1980's Maggie was selected as "Plant Manager of the Year" which was quite an honor considering the fact that National was operating a huge network of steel service centers at the time. She became Plant Manager of the Ohio facility in 1990 after the Sumitomo acquisition. Since 1998 she has served as Quality Manager, leading the way through each and every nail-biting audit...

On November 21, 2005, Maggie accepted the new position of Senior Quality and Safety Advisor for SteelSummit Ohio, reporting directly to the General Manager. She also became in charge of developing and implementing a new and improved safety program for the Cincinnati branch. She retired from the plant in 2006.
