US ARMY VETERAN Walter C. 'Walt' Ebeling, 74, beloved husband of Madeline M. Ebeling (nee Smith), devoted father of Douglas W. Ebeling, Robert A. Ebeling and Mary E. Sears (William), son of the late Walter O. and Florence Ebeling, dear brother of Ruth E. Rothe, loving grandfather of Craig, Patrick, Jacqueline, Joshua and Katherine. Passed away April 29, 2011. Walt was proud to say he served as a volunteer firefighter for the community in Fairlawn, NJ. He volunteered his time to a cause that he enjoyed at Habatat for Humanity in Middlesex County, CT. Following BHS Walt served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957. After 4 years of night school he graduated from the Academy of Aeronautics and received his FAA Air Frame and Power Plant Mechanics license. He also earned a BS degree with honors from Rutgers University after 10 years of night classes. In his 35 year career with Bendix Corp/Allied Signal Corp., Walt had many positions in many locations: Provisioning Analyst in Teterboro, NJ; Sales Representative for the NY Metropolitan area out of Bendix Heavy Vehicle Systems in Elyria, OH; Central Sales Manager in Oklahoma City; Director of Materials for the Aftermarket Division back in Elyria; Director of Sales and Marketing, Far East, in Tokyo; return to Elyria as Worldwide Product Line Director at Corporate Offices. After retirement, he relocated to CT, and then back to Ohio to be near his children and grandchildren. Walt notes, "I've traveled all over the world from Japan, China, Korea, Thailand, England, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Greece and Belgium. I've been to every state in the Union except Alabama It's been a busy 50 years". Gathering at St. Susanna Church, 616 Reading Road, Mason, OH on Monday, May 2 from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at 11:00 AM.
