US ARMY WORLD WAR II VETERAN Eugene P. Smith, age 87, of Landen, OH died peacefully June 30th, 2012 at Bethesda North Hospital, Montgomery, OH. Born in Easton, PA, the son of Hilda and Clarence Smith. Mr. Smith graduated at age 16 from St. Joseph's High School. He continued his education at Churchmans School of Business for 2 years. Mr. Smith was a World War II Army Veteran. He then graduated from Mt. St. Mary's College, Maryland, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in business administration, completing the course in 3 years. In financial management, he worked for Air Products Inc., Emmaus, PA for nine years and completed his career with General Electric Co., Evendale, Ohio retiring after thirty years of service in 1991. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marian Blickley Smith. A daughter, JoEllen Fletcher of Westlake Village, CA. A deceased son, Brian John and a daughter-in-law, Connie Smith of Mason, OH. The youngest son, Phillip Smith and deceased daughter-in-law, Sandy Smith of Mason, OH. Six grandchildren, Kelly Gerth, Katie (husband Josh) Rothman, Spencer Smith, Amy Smith, Samantha Smith (her fiance Drew Burnett) and Daniel Smith. Great-grandchildren are Molly Gerth-Gallaith and Cooper Rothman. A private family viewing will be held. Mass of Christian Burial at Good Shepherd Church, 8815 E.
