WORLD WAR II ARMY AIR CORP VETERAN ROSENBERG, George H., 91, of Montgomery, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013. He was husband of the late Margaret Rosenberg, father of Todd (Diane) Rosenberg, Christy (Gene) Sattler and Jodi (Steve) Morgan; proud grandfather of Jeffrey & Elizabeth Rosenberg and Katherine & Hannah Sattler. Born in Chicago, George served his country in WWII as a flight engineer aboard B-24s with the 15thAir Force, flying out of Manduria, Italy in 1943-44. He was employed in various management positions in the steel casting industry, rising to executive roles at foundries in Cleveland and Cincinnati. After retirement he began a second career as a volunteer at Bethesda North Hospital, where he amassed over 25,000 volunteer hours. He continued serving there until a month before his passing. An avid fisherman, trapshooter, and private pilot, he leaves many dear friends at the Bethesda North Volunteer office, the Tuesday "Lunch Bunch", and the Metallic Club. He was a member of Church of the Savior United Methodist Church and past President of Montgomery Kiwanis. A gathering of family & friends will be held Friday, December 13, at 10 am at Church of the Savior United Methodist Church, 8005 Pfeiffer Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45242. A Celebration of Life service follows at the church at 11 am. A luncheon will be served at the church immediately afterwards.
