Frances Jane (Crook) Fox, 87, a lifelong resident of Washington, PA, died peacefully at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in Hamilton, Ohio. Following a lengthy illness first at home in Washington, and later in West Chester, Ohio, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, she spent the last 2½ years at Hillandale Health Care Center in Hamilton, Ohio. She was born on February 18, 1922, in Washington, PA, the oldest daughter of William Thomas Crook and Annie I. (Neely) Crook. On January 24, 1943, she married John K. ("Jack") Fox, who died July 22, 2002, and together they celebrated 59 years of marriage. They were very involved with The George Washington Numismatic Association and the local VFW organization. A graduate of Washington High School, Frances was a member of the 4th Presbyterian Church on Jefferson Avenue and was a homemaker, who enjoyed baking, crafts, traveling, and her beloved dogs (Bozo, Buffy, Chip, and Chico, in addition to her many "grand-dogs"). Surviving is a daughter, Joni Raybuck, and son-in-law, Thomas; four sisters, Betty (Jack) Pintola, of Elyria, Ohio, Barbara Seibert, Geraldine Crook, and Laura Jean Crook, all of Washington, and; two brothers, Harold Crook, of Houston, Texas, and Ronald Crook, of Washington. One brother, James, is deceased. She had 14 nieces and nephews, and will be missed by many friends, neighbors, and caretakers. Friends and family will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19th, at Piatt & Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Susan vande Kapelle officiating. Interment will follow with a private service in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, PA.
