Betty "Granny" Rogers (nee Stengel), 74, beloved wife of the late Carl L. Rogers, Jr., devoted mother of Sherry (John) Federle and Doug (Lori) Rogers, dear sister of James Stengel, Sr. and Janet Wolaver, loving grandmother of Chris (Amy), Kate, Amy and Joe Federle, Dana (Owen) Rasmussen and Mickey Rogers, great-grandmother of Collen, Elijah and Benjamin Federle, aunt of many nieces and nephews. Longtime resident of Mason passed away October 24, 2009. Betty graduated from High School in Sidney, Ohio. Served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. She married Carl Rogers on January 2, 1954. Operated "The Comb" beauty parlor in Mason, Ohio through the 1970's and 80's. She enjoyed being a substitute teacher for Great Oaks Vocational School in cosmetology and culinary arts. Betty made a "one-of-a-kind" angel food cake. An active participant in the Warren County 741 Senior group and Red Hat Divas. As a member of the Mason United Methodist Church, she participated in Steven Ministries, Disciple Classes and the Senior Ministry. She was an artist at heart with a favorite passtime of painting landscape and architecture scenes. Visitation at Mason United Methodist Church, 6315 S. Mason Montgomery Road, on Tuesday, October 27 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 3:00 PM. Interment with Military Honor Guard to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggest contributions to Mason United Methodist Church, 3615 S. Mason Montgomery Road, Mason, OH 45040 or Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263-3597.
