Benjamin Thomas Gilbert, 83, loving husband of Imogene J. Gilbert (Nee Johnson) for 62 years, devoted father of Denise (Jim) Trammel, Gary T. (Billie) Gilbert and Vanna Rae (Greg) Burgess, beloved grandpa of Mindy, J.T., Shelley, Mark, Ben and Erin and great-grandpa of Lauren, Morgan, James David, Ava and Rachel, dear brother of Gordon and Robert Gilbert. Passed away October 2, 2012 at his residence. Ben was the eldest of three sons of John Thomas and Stella Gilbert. He was raised in Fairfield and attended Stockton elementary and later graduated from Fairfield High School. After high school Ben attended Miami University for one year and then transferred to The Ohio State University where he received his degree in Agricultural Engineering. Soon after graduation Ben started at General Electric Aircraft Engines in Evandale, OH and became a Planning Supervisor until 1989 when he retired after 38 years. Ben served for many years as a Deacon at Deer Park Baptist Church and is a current member of Hope Evangelical Church in Mason, OH. He was a member of the Wyoming Masonic Lodge #186 F&AM and a Lifetime member of the Mason Grange. Visitation at Mueller Parker Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Friday, October 5 from 4:30-8:30 PM and on Saturday at Hope Church, 4934 Western Row Rd, Mason from 10 AM until time of Service at 11:00 AM. Wyoming Masonic Lodge #186 F&AM will conduct services Friday evening at 8:30 PM. Memorials may be sent to Hope Church or Hospice of Cincinnati.
