It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Abbie Middleton, who departed this world on December 9th, 2024, at the remarkable age of 90. She was laid to rest on December 13th in a private ceremony at Riverside Cemetery in Hazard, Kentucky, surrounded by the love of her family.
Abbie was born on October 16, 1934, in Dwarf, Kentucky, to the late Mahala (Ritchie) Miller and Andrew Jackson Miller. She lived a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.
Abbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 29 years, Billy Gene Middleton, who passed on May 22, 1985. She also mourned the loss of her first grandchild, Brandon Marshall, on May 17, 2007, and her devoted siblings: brothers AJ, Curtis, James, and Zebedee, and sisters Rusha Camp, Exalee Miniard, and Imogene Combs.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Abbie is survived by her daughter Sharon Marshall, son John Middleton and son in law Steve Marshall. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Tyler and Abby Marshall, and Jade, Lindsey, Kyle, Billy, and Juno Middleton, as well as her great-grandchildren: Devon, Mahayla, Eva, Michael, Taya, Isabella, Emilia, Maxx, Rylee, Jayden, Elijah, Isaiah, Makenzie, Chad, and Harper. She was also blessed with a great-great-granddaughter, Copeland, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will always remember her kindness and warmth.
In honor of Abbie's life, a Celebration of Her Life will be held after the holidays. The family will announce the details of this gathering to cherish her memory and share stories that highlight the impact she had on everyone who knew her.
While we mourn the loss of a treasured matriarch, we choose to celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared with all of us. Abbie Middleton will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts.
