Alba Veracierto

Alba Veracierto, of Liberty Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully Monday, May 30, 2022 at the age of 92. She was born Sunday, November 3, 1929 in Uruguay to Eduardo and Nelida (nee Taborda) Veracierto.

Born and raised in perhaps the most beautiful part of South America, Alba had a love of the ocean. Upon immigrating to the United States she resided in Toledo, Ohio and then Isla Verde, Puerto Rico. Alba was always a hard worker aside from looking for ways to make life easier for others. She received the Barb Bossou award for her countless hours of volunteer service to the Lakota Schools especially first graders at Shawnee Elementary. " Mrs. Alba" as students called her retired at age 85. The influence she had on the students was not easily forgotten.
When you met her, you couldn't help but fall in love with her. She often referred to herself as individual's " honorary granny". Her heart was huge and she shared it with everyone. Who would have guessed this sweet little lady from Uruguay would be the one in the stands cheering the loudest for her grandkids teams. Alba will be forever loved and cherished by all that new her.

Alba was preceded in death by: parents, Eduardo and Nelida Veracierto; and a brother, Jorge Veracierto.

Alba is survived by: daughter, Lourdes (Doug) Ward; grandchildren, Alexander (Rachel) Ward and Alysha (Mike) Haury; great-grandchildren, Foster and Ward Haury; and a host of students and friends she loved as family.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 9:30 am until time of Memorial Service at 10:00 am at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.
