Allen Herman, 87 of Mason, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Cincinnati with his family by his side. Born to Benjamin and Catherine (nee Rabinowitz) Herman on August 3, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Allen was a 1956 graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where he went on to work as a Director for the Federal Government in HUD for 30 years, before retiring. His retirement brought many years of travel. He and Marilyn traveled all over the world. Big and small cities, hot or cold climates it did not matter, he loved to travel and fine dine along the way.

Allen was an avid reader and was a sports enthusiast. It didn’t matter what sport or who was playing, he just enjoyed it all. He was a kind and faithful friend to many and even has friends he made back in the 60s.

Preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Catherine Herman.

Allen is survived by his loving wife of almost 48 years, Marilyn (nee Bennett) Herman, one brother, Lawrence (Ann) Herman, two sisters-in-law, Carol Susann (Rick) Rains and Jennifer McLean-Yafanero, nieces and nephews, David (Sabah Siddique) Herman, Meghan (Luke) McLean-Porath, Shelley Lynn (Charles) Holmes and Jeffrey Lee (Shannan) Duggin and many great- nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 13th from 10:00-11:00am with a memorial service at 11:00am, all at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Inurnment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mason, Ohio. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Allen’s name to the American Cancer Society or to the Hospice of Cincinnati.
