Angela K. Willis

March 27, 1963 — August 16, 2019

Angela Kay Willis was born on March 27, 1963. Angi, or Gigi as her nieces and their friends knew her, was survived by her sister Andrea Erickson and brother Dave Taylor. She was the daughter of Cinda Reinhardt whom she survived. She was also close to her stepfather, Dick Rienhardt. Angi lived in Mason, Ohio and built a career in the information technology and corporate training fields. Angi most recently worked for Anthem where she was a key member of the training team. She loved her work with Anthem and was grateful to have been a part of a high performing team that bonded as good friends. Previous to Anthem, Angi contributed to teams at Intuit, Luxottica, and GE Capital.

Angi was never married, and her joys in life were her nieces Megan, Meredith, and Drew Erickson. She built strong relationships with the families of her nieces’ friends and shared her talents and creativity in drawing, painting and other arts with this group of friends as she hosted sleepovers, Oscar watches, and binge-streaming watch parties as popular series were released. Angi was also close to Dave and Andrea. Holidays and birthdays were always special with anticipation as her family either didn’t know - or knew for sure - exactly what aunt Gigi would show up with. The wrapping paper was always elegant, and her cards individually tailored to our sense of humors.

Angi had terrific creative skill. She always had the best angles in her photos; the cards she chose spoke directly to the recipient; her drawing, painting, ceramics, and the jewelry she created burst with color and texture. In high school Angi sung in the swing choir and acted in all the plays.

The family will hold a small private memorial service for those who were close to her. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Global Citizen Year on behalf of her niece, Drew, who is serving in an apprenticeship in Thies, Senegal where her work will support microlending to local farmers. Contributions would support future GCY cohort scholarships. https://donate.globalcitizenyear.org/fundraiser/2129232
