Ann Gale McAvoy, 93 years young, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Doverwood Village in Hamilton, Ohio. She was born Monday, April 6, 1925 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Wycliff Blair and Ruth (nee Gale) Childrey.
With a mind for numbers, Gale excelled at bookkeeping and retired from MacGregor Accounting. As a talented seamstress, she made a lot of clothing including her daughter's wedding dress. Gale also enjoyed reading mostly biographies. Her true passion was being outdoors. She was passionate about her garden and well manicured lawn.
Gale was preceded in death by: parents, Wycliff and Ruth Childrey; husband, Ronald H. McAvoy; and siblings, Jack Childrey, Katherine Smith and Blair Childrey.
Gale is survived by: daughter, Ruth (Dennis) Bradley; grandchildren, Zachary Bradley and Kaitlin (David) Drozdik; and special niece Sandra Pickett along with many nieces and nephews
A Visitation will be Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Greenlawn Cemetery, Office Chapel, 2580 Romig Road, Akron, Ohio 44320. A Service will immediately follow at 11:30 AM in the Chapel.
