Audrey Hall Stapleton, a radiant spirit born on March 2, 1930, in a humble holler of Saint Charles, Virginia, ascended to her eternal rest on March 6, 2025, in Mason, Ohio, after celebrating her 95 years of vibrant life. She was the cherished daughter of Odas Howard Hall and Lillie Nellie Griffin, bringing joy to the lives of many from the very start.
Audrey's journey through life was marked by her unwavering independence, strong will, and boundless determination, traits that she carried with grace throughout her years. Her love story with Charles Stapleton was one for the ages—two souls intertwined for life, until he preceded her in death in 1998. Together, they raised a beautiful family that will forever carry forward their legacy of love.
Audrey is survived by her beloved son, Ed (Joyce) Stapleton and daughter-in-law Pam Stapleton, and former daughter-in-law Sandy Stapleton. Her heart holds a special place for her late son, Gary Wayne Stapleton. The love continued to expand through her grandchildren: Steven Stapleton, Lisa (Rob) Dillingham, David (Ashlie) Stapleton, Martin (Abbey) Stapleton, Bradley Stapleton, Rhonda (Derick) Rathbun, and Amanda (Matt) Bramble and the late infant granddaughter Lorie Stapleton. Audrey’s pride swelled with the joyful chaos of eight great-grandchildren: Logan, Liam, Charlie, Oliver, Sam, Kayden, Audrey and Henry, each bringing joy and magic to her days.
Beyond family, her bond with Louise Hogue, her co-worker turned best friend and travel companion, was a testament to the connections she fostered throughout her life. Together, they embarked on countless adventures, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Audrey's vibrant nature drew in friends and family alike, forming lasting bonds that have shaped many lives.
Though Audrey has departed this world, she joins her cherished siblings, Orpha Jones, Gillis Hall, Evelyn Luetje, James "Jimmy" Hall, Joann Cooper, Peggy Harbor, all preceding her in death. They will be together again in the warm embrace of eternal peace. She also leaves her loving surviving sister, Anita (Buddy) Reasor, and many nieces and nephews.
Audrey's adventurous spirit was truly remarkable. For over 25 years, she called Panama City Beach, Florida her home. When not basking in the sun and sea breeze, she indulged her passion for travel. Curious and bold, she explored all 50 states and ventured into 32 countries, creating stories and memories that would fill volumes. She embarked on many journeys with travel groups, including a special experience with Ike Eisenhower's daughter, Mary’s, traveling group, relishing each new destination with excitement.
