Barbara Ann Garand

Barbara Ann Garand passed away on October 10, 2024.

She was born on September 10, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Larry and Marilyn Chambers.

Barbara attended Xavier University and received her master’s degree in counseling.

She met her husband, Rob, through a singles enrichment group, they married in 1999.

Barbara worked at Xavier University for over 25 years as an academic advisor and success coach. She enjoyed helping students find their passion and joy in life. When she was not working, she enjoyed visiting the parks of Cincinnati, being in nature, singing, and spending time with her dog, Daisy, and her family. She also enjoyed watching the various wildlife in her back yard, especially hummingbirds. She connected with many people through humor, and often knew the best way to make them laugh.

Barbara is survived by her husband Robert Garand, her mother Marilyn Chambers, daughters Emmy and Gina Garand, and stepchildren Rory and Alicia Garand. Siblings; Dennis (Michelle) Chambers, Chris (Katie) Chambers, Diane (Paul) Traxler, and Don (Jackie) Chambers. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

Visitation for Barbara will take place on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM with Mass to follow at 11:00AM at St. John the Evangelist Church (West Chester Twp., 45069)
