Barbara Ellen Moorhouse

Barbara Ellen Moorhouse, lovingly known as Barb, departed this life peacefully on February 1, 2025, in Mason, Ohio, at the age of 84. Born on December 21, 1940, in Wooton, Kentucky, she exemplified a strong will and independent spirit that defined her life journey.

Barb's professional life was marked by dedication and skill, serving for many years as a buyer for Spartan Glove Company. Her strong-willed personality allowed her to thrive in her career while earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Barb cherished many personal passions. She met the love of her life, John W. "Jack" Moorhouse, while horseback riding—a shared interest that nurtured their bond and continued through many joyful years together. The couple wed in 1970 at Freedom Baptist Church in Hamilton, Ohio, marking the beginning of a beautiful partnership.

Barb held many happy memories close to her heart, including countless hours spent riding horses with Jack, reminiscing about their adventures, and reveling in every moment spent in the company of family and friends. Known for her competitive spirit, she was quite the sharpshooter, often besting Jack in target shooting contests, which brought laughter and friendly competition into their lives.

Education was important to her, and after high school, Barb pursued her studies at Cardome Center in Georgetown, Kentucky, where she furthered her education.

Barb was not just a skilled markswoman; she was a loving family member and cherished friend. She is survived by her niece, many loving cousins, and a multitude of caring friends, including her beloved "family" at Mason Christian Village, where she found warmth and felt very much at home.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jack; her mother, Jessie (nee Hyden) Blue; and her step-father, Frank Payne. Each of these individuals left an indelible mark on Barb's life, shaping her into the remarkable woman she became.

As we remember Barbara Ellen Moorhouse, we celebrate a life richly lived—a life filled with love, passion, and a spirit that touched the hearts of many. She will be deeply missed, yet her legacy of strength, independence, and affection will resonate in the memories and lives of all who knew her.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio, 45040.  Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon.  Interment will immediately follow in Rose Hill Burial Park, Hamilton, Ohio.
