Betty Sue Brunsman (nee Ormiston) passed away at the age of 87 joining her son Kenneth Brunsman and husband of 60 years, Dr. Tom Brunsman, in the afterlife. She is survived by her daughter Susan (James) Owen, her daughter in law Marla Brunsman, grandchildren Thomas (Stephanie) Owen, Scott (Marta) Owen, Kelsey (Trey) Boles, Brady Brunsman and great grandchildren Griffin Owen and Evalyn Owen.
Betty Sue was born and raised in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of two high school teachers, Mary and Albert Ormiston. After high school, she moved to Cincinnati to attend the Christ Hospital School of Nursing, obtaining her RN. While in hospital training, she met the love of her life, Tom. After marriage and a few moves with the Air Force, she and Tom set up a solo OB/GYN practice in Mt. Healthy which they ran for almost 30 years. She managed the office while he practiced medicine.
People that met Betty Sue would often use the words “feisty”. She was intimidated by few things. She managed finances, tackled home projects without the assistance of U tube, and handled all negotiations. Beyond family and friends, her other love was golf. She relished the competition and valued the friendships she made through it. After any injury, her immediate goal was to rehab so she could quickly get back on the course with her friends. On her last day, she met her golf friends for lunch just hours before her unexpected death.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 30th at the Cedars of Lebanon Chapel in the Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45232.
