Bonita M. Garay (nee Munz) of West Chester, Ohio passed away on March 24, 2024, at the age of 78. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Joseph and Callista (nee Lantman) Munz, Bonita held her Catholic faith close to her heart and was an active member of St. Therese Little Flower, St. John the Evangelist, and St. Susanna Churches.
Bonnie was a pillar of her Church community, actively participating in bible studies and bringing her enthusiasm and organizational skills to parish festivals. Her kindness knew no bounds, as she also volunteered with the Stephen Ministry, providing support to those in need. Professionally, Bonnie made valuable contributions through her work at the Greater Cincinnati Library Consortium.
As a devoted wife to her husband Julio, Bonnie exemplified love and commitment. She was a loving mother to her five children and an active grandmother, always present for her grandchildren’s milestones, from weekly visits to attending their sporting events and school activities. Bonnie’s legacy will be one of kindness, intelligence, and unwavering faith. Her patience, sense of adventure, and warm smile touched the lives of many.
May her memory continue to inspire and comfort those who knew her!
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Julio Garay, five sons, Michael (Olga Kalashnikova) Garay, Matthew (Christine) Garay, Gregory (Laura) Garay, Anthony Garay and Joseph (Quinn) Garay; grandchildren, Stephanie Garay, Elizabeth Garay, Nicholas Garay, Alex Garay, Nathan Garay, Luke Garay, Ruby Garay, Mabel Garay, Anastasija Easley, Maximilian Easley, and Xenia Easley; siblings, Terry Munz, Connie Stricker, Fr. Ted Munz S.J., and Jay (Cindy) Munz and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12th from 10:00-11:00AM with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM both at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 616 Reading Rd Mason, OH 45040. Fr. Ted Munz will be officiating. Interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Hospice of Cincinnati or St. Susanna Catholic Church.
