Friday, October 2
, 1942 in Epperly, West Virginia to Robert F. Hedrick, Sr. and Minnie L. (nee Walker) Hedrick.
Leon graduated from Stoco High School in Coal City, WV in 1960. Three months before his 18th birthday, Leon enlisted into the Air Force in Beckley, West Virginia. Leon was very mechanically and electronically inclined so he was able to save his family many dollars over the years with his handy-man skills. If something broke, he was sure to fix it even troubleshooting days before he passed away.
Family was of most importance to Leon and he always put their needs first. His caring nature and gentleness carried over to the furry family members as well especially his Scotties, Gussy & Kelsey and Siamese Cats, Mandy & Veronica. Leon enjoyed being outdoors feeding his fish, watching the birds, taking pictures of wildlife and just appreciating nature.
Leon will forever be cherished by those that knew and loved him. Leon was preceded in death by: parents, Robert and Minnie Hedrick, Sr., brothers, Robert F. (Wanda) Hedrick, Jr., and Roger E. Hedrick; and sister, Donna (Dempsey) Adams.
