C. Ora Miesse (nee Dales), of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born Tuesday, September 15, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri to Lawrence O. and Catherine Gwyneth (nee Atkinson) Dales.
On Saturday, June 23, 1962, Ora married Robert (Bob) J. Miesse. She and Bob spent their early retirement lovingly restoring a Civil War era farmhouse where many wonderful memories were made. Raising their family on a 30-acre farm provided many meals prepared with homegrown ingredients; many benefitted from her expressions of love from the kitchen. Ora loved to entertain, from Wassail parties to cooking Sunday dinners, making thousands of pounds of peanut brittle, and baking pies from scratch for many years. She was a gifted sewer and seamstress and always had her hands busy with a crochet hook or cross stitch project. She had a passion for travel and treasured the opportunity to see much of the world in her later years. With a love of history and genealogy, Ora had a wall dedicated to the family tree covering several generations.
Ora was preceded in death by: husband, Bob Miesse, parents, Lawrence and C. Gwyneth Dales; step-grandson, Scott Miesse; and a brother, L. Graham Dales.
Ora is survived by: daughter, Iva (Jeff) Staats; step-children, Roberta (Eric) Schimmel, Terry (Kay) Miesse, and Jack (Linda) Miesse; grandchildren who affectionately called Ora "Mompaw", Ryan Staats and Gwyneth Staats; and step-grandchildren, Erika Jentelson, Karie Teany, Sarah Jane Hale, Rob Miesse, and Jennifer Miesse.
