Carol Walsh (nee Shouse), of Maineville, unexpectedly passed away at her residence Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the age of 69. She was born Sunday, June 18, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio to James and Margaret (nee Girdler) Shouse.
Education was important for Carol. After 36 years of teaching the love of writing and reading, she retired from Loveland High School. She was passionate about her community and held many different volunteer positions. One of her favorite activities was reading to the patients at Children's Hospital. In Carol's opinion, it was just as important to exercise the whole body, not just the brain. As a single mom, she passed her love of literature to her only daughter.
Carol raised her daughter, Megann Elizabeth, nearly completely, on her own. She was not only a mother to Megann, but at times, a father, a sister, and a best friend. Megann consistently referred to Carol as "her person," and that proved true until the day Carol passed away.
Carol was preceded in death by: parents, James and Margaret Shouse.
Carol is survived by: daughter, Megann (Scott Benedict) Walsh; sister, Pat Woods; nieces, Sally and Jamie Woods; great-nephew, Odin Woods; and her fur-baby, Fernando.
Visitation will be Monday, December 30, 2019 from 11:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center or the American Heart Association.
Mueller Funeral Home is serving her family, Megann Elizabeth Walsh.
