Carston Martinsen

March 16, 1936 — January 26, 2021

Carston Harvey Martinsen , 84, of Loveland, Ohio and formerly of Monfort Heights, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Born to John and Inger (nee Jensen) Martinsen on March 16, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York.

Carston proudly served his country in the United States Army; his service continued as he went into law enforcement, spending over 25 years of dedication and service to the City of Cincinnati’s Police Department.

Our Dad and Papa most loved time spent with his family. He was supportive and always there for us when we needed him. In his younger years Carston loved golf, was an avid reader and found much joy walking and enjoying beach vacations. In his later years he found pleasure in visiting casinos with his children.

Preceded in death by his parents, John and Inger Martinsen, son in law, Robert Knapp, four sisters, Carsta Martinsen, Alice Hummel, Laura Walker and Joan Eagan and one great grandson, Roland Johnson.

Carston is survived by his five loving children, Lori (Dave Sorter) Doran, Raeanne Knapp, Mary (Lynn Gamble) Martinsen, Michael (Donna) Martinsen and Christa (Tom) Helms, seventeen grandchildren, and twenty great- grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4th from 12:00-1:00pm with a Catholic prayer service at 1:00pm all at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Inurnment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial donations are requested in Carston’s name to the Hospice of Cincinnati.

MASKS ARE REQUIRED and social distancing will be observed.
