Cassidy A. Swanson

February 25, 1988 — January 22, 2024

Cassidy (Cass) Anne Swanson passed away in her home on January 22nd, 2024.   She was born on 2/25/88 in Springfield, IL to Duane and Susie Swanson.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, and her Aunt Jacque Haskins.  She is survived by her mother, Susie Swanson, sister Abby Hawkins (Stephen), and brother Matt Swanson (Christy).   Also survived by an Aunt, Uncle, and many cousins, and many close friends.

The most special people in her life were her nieces and nephews, who called her Aunt Dee Dee:   Cole, Emme, Joey, and Cade Swanson (Matt), Leon and his brother (Abby), and her "adopted" nieces Kamryn, Leighton, and Linden (Mindy Hartzell).   She was a proud Aunt, and she loved attending all of the events to cheer on her favorite kids.  She had a generous heart, and she always found the best shoes for all of her nieces and nephews.

Cassidy was an avid soccer player from the age of 3 to high school.  She was a huge US Women's soccer fan, and she enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears, like her Dad.  She was adventurous and brave, enjoying skydiving, water sports, and travel.  She once spent three months exploring South Africa with family, including solo travel in Cape Town.  During this vacation, she went skydiving, cage diving with sharks, and rode a hot air balloon on safari.   She loved exploring new places, and she took several vacations across the US.   Cass had a sharp, witty sense of humor, and many friends will miss her contagious laugh the most.

Cassidy worked for many years at Penn Station, where she was both a manager and a staff trainer.   She was dedicated to her family, always living close to home, and she was a loving caretaker to her grandmother, her father, and she remained very close to her Mom until the day she passed.   She was a bright light to all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.

The information for a service will be announced at a later date.   In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity close to Cassidy's heart.
