Daniel David Werrell

Daniel David Werrell of Mason, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 12, 2021. He was born on April 19, 1958 in Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin to Terry and Sandra Werrell.

Dan graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 1980 with two degrees: Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. In 1985, he received his Masters of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He was employed with General Electric for 30 years, having leadership positions in Aircraft, Aero-Derivatives and Rail. He was a Senior Vice President upon his retirement in 2010.

Dan had a great curiosity of the world and he loved to learn, especially anything highly technical. He was a patient teacher and a teacher of patience. One of his favorite phrases was "patience is a virtue to me". He loved to share with and learn from anyone that he had a chance to interact with. He had a wonderful sense of adventure that he shared with his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel and had visited every continent but Antarctica.

He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His greatest joys in life were all about family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Werrell.

Dan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marilou (Spradling) Werrell; children Jason (Anna) Werrell, Lori (Andy) Adams, and Melisa (Charlie) Tschaenn; grandchildren Tyler (Paige), Emily and Hunter Tschaenn and Sam Adams; great grandchildren Aubrie, Wesson and Kayleigh Tschaenn; mother Sandra Werrell, sisters Diana (Daniel) Tremblay, Linda (Brian) LaFalce and Pam Werrell; and many loving family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
