Daniel M. Zappone

Daniel M. Zappone, of Mason, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the age of 82. The oldest of his siblings, he was born November 7, 1938 in Amsterdam, New York to Vito Anthony and Johanna (nee Mercadante) Zappone.

Affectionately known as "Papa", Daniel lived a simple life. As an engineer, Dan had the ability to fix just about anything. With an artist's touch, he created beautiful stained glass. Daniel enjoyed traveling and his favorite destination was Hilton Head Island. His greatest joy and love in life was his grandbabies.

Dan is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Billie (nee Payne) Zappone; children, Angie (Bert) White, Danny (Sabrina) Zappone, Joan (Dan) Moening, and Michael (Wendy) Zappone; grandchildren, Sidney (Stephen) Ciampanelli, Maxwell White, Peyton Moening, Brenna Moening, Audrey Zappone, Michael Zappone, Tabitha (Conner) McClellan, and Will Zappone; great-grandchild, Landon Ciampanelli; and other loving family members and friends.

Services will be held privately for the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Alzheimer's Association.
