David Allen Bowlin, age 68, peacefully passed away in his home on April 15, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, leaving behind cherished memories for all who knew him.
Born on July 15, 1956, in Marion, Ohio, David was the son of John and Elsie (nee Baker) Bowlin. His journey through life was marked by kindness, laughter, and a deep love for his family and friends.
David's heart found its match when he met Sheryll, after a family friend invited them both to what turned out to be a non-existent party. This fortuitous meeting blossomed into a loving relationship, and they married on their lunch break on February 14, 1978, in Lebanon, Ohio after six months of dating. Their bond was a testament to love and partnership.
He is survived by his devoted wife Sheryll and their daughter (his little girl), Amanda “Mandi” LaSeur, along with his cherished grandchildren, Jaxon, Lucas, and Emmy, who brought immense joy into his life. David is also survived by his loving sisters: Patricia (Philip) Delamarter, Becky (Butch) McNay, Kay (Paul) Gehring as well as his very favorite sister-in-law Darrelene (Rick) Dotson. He leaves behind a wide network of nieces (you know who the favorite is) nephews, extended family members, and close friends who will remember his warmth and generosity.
Preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Bob, Martin, Chris and sister Susan Glover.
David will be remembered not just for his accomplishments but for the love and laughter he shared with those around him.
David loved spending time with his family, fishing, camping or playing cards. He enjoyed a lifelong passion for billiards. He supported Friday night football at Lebanon High School for over 40 years.
His greatest love was grandkids. He just loved being their Papaw.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM at Red Lion Pentecostal Church, located at 2410 OH-122, Lebanon, OH 45036.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to be made to Hospice of Dayton, honoring David's spirit of compassion and love for others.
David Bowlin’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love and laughter. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
David loved and was loved.
