Dennis J. "Denny" McCleane, of Lebanon, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at the age of 69. He was born Wednesday, July 5, 1950 in Atlantic City, New Jersey to Michael J. McCleane, Sr. and Dorothy (nee Gill) McCleane.
Growing up in Atlantic City, he attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Grammar School, Holy Spirit High School and received his Bachelors Degree from St. Francis University, Loretto, PA where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi. He had a passion for sports: playing basketball on many courts where he was known as the "leaper", baseball at Chelsea Little League, and playing softball at Pop Lloyd Stadium. Taking pride in his Atlantic City roots, Denny's first stop on his visits was White House subs.
After many years, Denny retired as Team Manager from MillerCoors. In retirement, his love of sports continued with golf and he enjoyed playing with his friends at Shaker Run Golf Course. An avid animal lover, he often took his yellow lab, Bailey B for car rides. Denny was also proud to be an American and often had Fox News on the TV. He will forever be loved and missed by all that knew him.
Denny was preceded in death by: his parents, Michael J. and Dorothy McCleane, Sr; and brother, Rev. Michael J. McCleane, Jr.
Denny is survived by: his wife, Cheryl (nee McCormick) McCleane; daughter, Lindsay (Brian) Loughlin; step-children, Dustin Sargent and Emily Sargent; grandchildren, Jack, Patrick and Charlotte Loughlin; sisters, Patricia Kelly Schreiber and Karen C. Mullin; and many close family members and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17, 2019 9:30 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 616 Reading Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.
