Denny Shamp, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 14, 2020. The oldest of four children, he was born Wednesday, November 3, 1954 in Orrville, Ohio to Dale and Donna (nee Heiks) Shamp.
Denny married Rae Anne Mense, on Saturday, October 13, 1984 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Parish in Fairfield, Ohio. Over the next thirty-five years, the couple would combine forces to raise their three sons with laughter and love. Finding the perfect balance, Rae Anne typically kept things in order as Denny encouraged new experiences. Denny was the family chauffeur; making sure the boys got to their soccer, football, baseball and basketball practices. He even tried his hand at coaching in their younger years. Denny was also the boys' biggest fan. He was always in the bleachers encouraging the boys and praising them for a good game, win or lose.
Denny could spend hours in the yard tending to his garden and creating new landscaping. With his sidekick, Scooter, Denny could stay outside forever. He was a quiet man, but was also known as the king of "one-liners". With a smile, family and friends will forever remember Denny catching them off-guard with a statement they would never expect him to say.
Denny is survived by: wife, Rae Anne Shamp; sons, Jason Shamp, Matt (Maggie) Shamp and Kevin (Dana) Shamp; parents, Dale and Donna Shamp; siblings, Doug (Susie) Shamp, Deb (Don) Tkacz and Duane (the late Mindy) Shamp; and many loving family members and close friends.
