Don H. Johnson

December 27, 1944 — April 20, 2020

Don H. Johnson, of Liberty Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully Monday, April 20, 2020 at the age of 75.  He was born Wednesday, December 27, 1944 in Madison, Wisconsin to Clifford and Florence (nee Anderson) Johnson.
A native of Sister Bay WI, his  elementary education was at the two room Appleport School.  Don then attended Gibraltar High School in Fish Creek, where he participated in baseball, basketball and football, graduating with the class of 1963.  Don continued his education at Luther College in Decorah IA, later transferring to the University of Wisconsin in Madison.  While at college, he met his life-long sweetheart, Dottie Dorenbos.  Don graduated from the School of Pharmacy in 1968, and on Saturday, October 5th of that year, he and Dottie were married.
Don's career began with Hoffman LaRoche Pharmaceuticals.  He later changed to Hallmark Cards Inc until his retirement.  Don will forever be a Badger & Packer fan.

Don is survived by: his loving wife of almost 52 years, Dottie S. Johnson; daughter, Brigid (Tom) Young; granddaughters, Erica and Hallie Young; sister, Nancy Riemer; and many loyal friends in the Cincinnati area and others from previous residences in Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, Kansas and Wisconsin.  She survives along with their daughter Brigid, her husband Tom and daughters Erica and Hallie, all of Cincinnati and sister, Nancy Riemer.

The family is so grateful for the care given to him at the assisted living, extended care facilities and Hospice of Cincinnati as he coped with Alzheimer's disease in his final years.

Memorials in Don's name may be given to Wright State University Medical School Anatomical Gift Program or Hospice of Cincinnati (both addresses available on the web).

A celebration of his life will be held in Sister Bay, Wisconsin at a later date.
