Donald William Betz

Donald W. Betz, Sr. , 94, of Mason, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2020. Don was born in Dayton, KY to Richard and Sarah Betz.

With his parents’ consent, Don dropped out of high school to join the Navy at age 17.  After he completed his Service for his country in the Navy during WWII, he completed his high school degree, then went to Morehead State University on the GI bill. At Morehead State he met a wonderful young lady named Pauline 'Polly' Mackenzie. They married in 1950 and started their family. Don became an educator and a school administrator from which he retired. He enjoyed playing golf and teaching tennis. He was an all-around athletic person. His real love was his family and his faith. He will be greatly missed.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Sarah (nee Baird) Betz, brothers Richard, Howard and baby sister Mary Margaret Betz and a great-granddaughter Kadence Betz.

Don is survived by his wife of 70 years, N. Pauline 'Polly" (nee Mackenzie), children; Donald 'Bill' (Jill) Betz, Jr., Debbie (Mike) Farrell and Dave (Rose) Betz, grandchildren; Brian Betz, Adam (Laura) Betz, Doug (Stacey) Farrell, Kevin (Amberly) Farrell, Jacob Betz, Christian (Mackenzie) Betz, Maryashly Betz (fiancé Austin) and Juston Betz, great-grandchildren; Parker, Kennedy and Isabel Betz, Baya, Quorra and Maverick Farrell and Lilianrose Sebastian.

Visitation at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 10 AM until time of Service at 11:00 AM. Interment at Dayton National Cemetery. MASKS are required and social distancing will be observed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Heritage Presbyterian Church, 6546 Mason Montgomery Rd, Mason, OH 45040.
