Donald R. Roberts 80, of Liberty Township, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2020.
Donald is the loving husband of the late Nancy J. Roberts (nee Palmer) for 60 years, devoted father of Larry (Kim) Roberts, David (Tennia) Roberts, Fred (Kari) Roberts and the late Connie and Gary Roberts, beloved grandfather of Sarah (John) Carter, Ben Roberts, Andrew (Crystal) Roberts, Maddison Roberts, Mason Roberts, Cierra Roberts, Paisley Roberts, Hadley Roberts and Penelope Roberts and great-grandfather of Aria and Nora Carter, Savannah and Hunter Roberts, Levi and Tynlee Roberts and Alleigha and Jacob Cunningham, dear brother of Melvin (Judy) Roberts and brother-in-law of Jimmy (Betty) Palmer and the late Donald (Ann) Palmer.
Don was born in Versailles, KY but raised in Mason, OH. He graduated from Wm. Mason High School and later met and married Nancy Palmer in 1958. He served in the National Guard as an aviator during the Vietnam War and later became a helicopter flight instructor for the U.S. Army. Don earned a bachelor’s degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University for Professional Flight. Throughout his career he earned his private, commercial and ATP (airline transport pilot) licenses and was a Certified Flight Instructor for fixed wing aircraft. Don and Nancy loved adventures and traveled across the United States hiking, camping and Jeeping.
Service and interment will be held privately. Thank you for your understanding during these difficult times.
