Donna L. Bruce (nee Moore), of West Chester, Ohio, was escorted by Angels to her heavenly home Friday, July 19, 2019 at the age of 68. She was born Saturday, June 2, 1951 in Frederick, Maryland to Edgar K. Moore, II and Charlotte L. (nee Hammond) Moore.
Art ran deep in Donna's heart and she had the ability to see beauty in just about anything. Her talents were shared with many through her hand-painted Christmas Village, singing, building doll houses, and taking an active part in set painting for the Landen Deerfield Theatre Company. Blessed with a beautiful voice, Donna took pride in sharing her gift. She loved singing in the choir at church, performing solos, and furthering her talent with private voice lessons.
Born with a giving heart, it should not surprise anyone the amount of hours Donna volunteered her time. She spent many years volunteering time with children in classrooms at both Hopewell and Woodland Elementary schools making their rooms a brighter happier place to be. Donna helped found the West Chester Liberty Arts Council. In addition, Donna always contributed time in a long list of areas at her church. It was important for Donna to give back to her community and church.
With an eye for color, Donna appreciated the colors of nature. She loved working in her flower gardens as well as growing vegetables, an activity she enjoyed sharing with her grandchildren. Her creativity and love of art and color was seen well beyond her gardens. Donna's home was her canvas. She designed her family's beautiful outdoor spaces as well as creating paintings full of bright colors and scenery to fill the halls, adding love and warmth with her paintbrush, her visions made the home beautiful, unique, and an outpouring of who she was that the family will cherish forever.
To say she was one in a million would fall short. Donna will forever be loved and missed by all who were touched by her love and kindness.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, Edgar K. Moore, II.
Donna is survived by: her husband of 46 years, Harry W. Bruce, III; daughters, Karen (Evan) Rohrkemper and Katie (Jeff) Mueller; grandchildren, Joseph Rohrkemper, Kaia Rohrkemper, Aleli Rohrkemper, Ryan Mueller and Elaina Mueller; mother Charlotte L.
