Dorothy Reava Sheffer

With profound sadness we announce the passing on July 12, 2021 of Dorothy Reava Sheffer, age 96; born March 22, 1925 to Velma and Sherman Reava.

In 1946 Dorothy married the love of her life, Harvey, who predeceased her in April 1999.

First and foremost Dorothy was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She treasured all the children and celebrated every moment with them.

Dorothy’s hands were never still.  She was forever sewing, knitting, doing crewel work and embroidery. Those hands were  always cooking us yummy meals. And they were covered in dirt while she gardened.

She listened to her Irish music and country music and classical music. And she did enjoy her wine.

To the very end she made people laugh.

Dorothy was a loving and devoted mother to her son Paul and her daughter Sharon. She was the best Grandma  to Katy and Nana to Mary, and she was thrilled to become a great-grandmother to Holden James Morkassel. So special in her life were her nieces and nephews and all their children, and of course Harvey’s grandchildren.

She loved her sisters Nancy Phillips and Sharol Tatro. And she missed her brothers, Duane, Dwight, Roy, and Dick.

All who loved her will miss her and never forget her determination, wit, charm, and grace.
