Edna Harpen

Edna (nee Vazquez) "Ina" Harpen, 72 of Mason, passed away on April 4, 2023. She was born to Alejandro and Juana (nee Guzman) Vazquez in Morovis, Puerto Rico on September 22, 1950.

Ina had a deep love for sewing and possessed the ability fix any item of clothing no matter the difficulty. She was even known to create Halloween costumes for her two dear sons. She enjoyed gardening, and particularly held a fondness for tulips and roses. Born with a natural talent for art, she could be found drawing and sketching the world around her. In later years she enjoyed completing word searches and coloring.

Ina is preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband Patrick Harpen.

She is survived by her sons Patrick Harpen Jr., and Rafael Harpen, siblings Laura Vazquez Guzman, Dumas Vazquez Guzman, Heriberto Vazquez Guzman, Alberto Vazquez Guzman, Ana Luisa Vazquez Guzman, and Lydia Vazquez Guzman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with a Requiem Mass to follow at 11:25 a.m. all at St. Gertrude the Great located at 4900 Rialto Road, West Chester OH, 45069. Interment will be at Dayton National Cemetery located at 4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Gertrude the Great Church.
