Edward Benjamin Hunter , 89 of West Chester, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021. Born to George Henry Sr and Julia Agnes (nee Glodis) Hunter on May 25, 1932, in Worchester, Massachusetts.
Ed was a retired Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force serving for over 28 years. He was a patriotic and dedicated serviceman. Ed cared about his family, his country, and the men and women who he served with daily. He worked as a Missile Electronic Maintenance Manager for the later part of his military career before retiring.
A proud supporter of the Dallas Cowboys from his many years of living in Texas. Ed was also a small business owner of many different businesses. He was always working and finding things to do to keep busy in retirement. He started the “Hire a Grandpa” business to help the elderly doing simple tasks around their homes. Ed enjoyed people, he was kind and generous.
Ed and Betty met many friends through the REIA organization where he was a past president. Remodeling and flipping homes became a passion of theirs for many years.
Ed enjoyed life. He and Betty traveled the world together. Sightseeing and visiting family is what made traveling so special to Ed.
He was an avid golfer, read the newspaper from start to finish every day, took time to learn new things and would master the skill immediately. Ed was the person who could fix anything, a jack of all trades and a master of them all. He was handy, had a solid worth ethic and was brutally honest. Ed made life comical with his “one liners” and “special sayings”.
Ed was also an ice cream enthusiast. It did not matter where the ice cream was from. All that mattered was that he was enjoying a bowl.
Preceded in death by his parents George and Julia Hunter, sons, Eddy and David Hunter and brother George Hunter Jr.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Betty Mae Hunter, four children, Mark (Sue) Hunter, Suzanne (Kenneth) Frollini, Beckie (Stan Weaver) Overbey and Angie (Greg) Rush, grandchildren, Phillip (Saritha) Hunter, Aubrey (Nick) Martin, Aleana Hunter, Amber (Michael) Orth, Ryan Frollini, Marisa (Nicholas) McDow, David ‘DJ’ Hunter, Richard (Virginia) Hunter, Matt (Hannah) Cleveland, Cassie (Jared) Memering, Erick (Alex) Cleveland, Kaylynn (Jon) Elking and Austin (Corrin) Rush, nine great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Amoria, Dean, Charlene, Peter, Gloria, Philip, Clara, Collin, Aubrie Ella, and one on the way, two siblings, Elmer (Jan) Hunter and Julie Tuz and several nieces and nephews.
