Edwina M Brown

Edwina "Eddye" Brown, age 89, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025. Born in Connecticut to the late Edward and Vivian Madison, Eddye moved to California with her siblings, the late Roland Madison and the late Phyllis Madison during her childhood, where she spent many formative years.

Eddye attended El Segundo High School, where she met her first husband, the late Jerry German. Together, they raised two daughters, Cynthia (Cindy), Lynn Napoli (Joe) and Jeri-Lynn (Gigi) Bachey (Ken). After 13 years, they parted ways, and Eddye later found companionship with her second husband, James (Jim) R. Brown, marrying him in 1967. Through this union, she embraced her role as a stepmother to James (Steve) Steven Brown (Vickie), and Cheryl Lynn Gonzalez.

In 2016, Eddye and Jim made the decision to move from California to Ohio, where she quickly became known for her vibrant personality and ability to forge friendships. Eddye remained active and engaged in her community, finding joy in yoga, water aerobics, reading, and participating in book club. She treasured the time spent visiting with neighbors and her extended family, often found at the heart of gatherings sharing engaging stories.

Eddye had a deep love for her grandchildren: the late Rick Napoli (Laura), David Napoli (Roxana), Chase Bachey (Holly), Mallory Bachey, Samantha Butler (Percy), Steven Brown (Natasha), Al Gonzalez, and Patricia Gonzalez. She was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, including Joey Napoli (Tawni), Jaclyn Napoli, Kesleigh Bachey, Gideon Butler, Esther Butler, Henry Butler, Trinity Brown, Serenity Brown, Honor Brown, Samuel Brown,Joshua Gonzalez, Alexia Gonzalez, Makenzie Gonzalez, Ethan Gonzalez, Noah McLaughlin, David Aceves and her great-great-grandchild Lucas Napoli.

Eddye's warmth and love will be cherished by her family and friends, who will carry her memory in their hearts.

A memorial visitation will take place on Thursday February 20, 2025, at 10:00AM with Mass of Christian burial to begin at 11:00AM at St. John the Evangelist (9080 Cincinnati Dayton Road, West Chester OH 45069) 

All are welcome to attend lunch at the home of Ken and Gigi Bachey following the services.
